What is the purpose of DiggitNow. To be
honest with you our main purpose is to support Hi Tide Harris'
checkered board career. We believes in the golden rule. DiggitNow is
your friend. Hi Tide wants to get help in the music business by
helping others. Independent musicians who may be struggling to make
it in the music business, can help their business with information
gathered from this site. All the other things on these pages are
things that Hi Tide thought you could dig. DiggitNow is about music,

which dates back as far as 1949. Once Wes was
asked a question like how did you teach your self music, his

Dance Band. We are exited about this record because it has
much Blues and Boogie. The Blues is essintual for the
development of a Jazz artist.

from 1959 to 1963, going in that time from an obscure
Indianapolis musician to the most celebrated guitarist in

The settings range from the organ trios with which Montgomery
often worked to tracks with string accompaniment, but the
music is all linked by the guitarist's highly original
approach, using thumb picking and frequent octave runs to put
his signature on blues, ballads, and bop tunes. Among the gems
are live recordings of a quintet that includes the accelerated
tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin and bassist Paul Chambers, as
well as the studio recordings where Montgomery matches talents

This book of Wes' solos in notations &
Tablature, transcribed by Dan Bowden comes with a CD inside,
on that CD are Wes' recodings from 1960, a fiew years before
Wes became famous. While his solos were a little undeveloped
only compaird to his late 60s' solos, his solos were still
verey advanced and briliantly at that time.
For the studant of Jazz guitar, this book
would be a good start to playing like Wes. |

To quote Muddy Waters; "You got to go
to church to get the feelin'."

The Jubilee 4, this is my favorite
Gospel album. I don't dare try to sing like these guys and one
reason is, I don't think any one in this time zone can come close to
the quality of the Jubilee 4. Not only for gospel singing, but for
all quartet singing they are the tightest group I have ever heard.
The Jubilee 4 is not about shouting and stomping the floor, they
didn't even have a lead singer with a beautiful voice, like the
Soulstirrers maintained. They just sang with all kinds of feelings,
happy, sad, humble, mad, and very dramatic story telling from the
bible. They use great sycapation, accents, unusual harmonies. They
are backed by what sounds like a Jazz base player and a Jazz
drummer. They didn't need a piano or guitar because the back ground
vocal is so full, and rhythmically funky at all times. Some time
they sound like Jazz, and sometime they sound like Classical, and
Rap even, but it is definitely Gospel and all of it's emotional
excitement.
I had this album back in the 60s,
and moving around like musicians do, I lost it. And it was out of
print for a long time. I haven't heard it in over 20 year, and now I
found it on the internet. Of course I jumps at it!
